In case you aren’t convinced, just stick around and see what he
is doing with the music program at Western Hills! While we loved both Dale
Hardin and Ron Lowry
as individuals and as music leaders,
we always knew that they were temporary,
and had ‘retirement’ on their minds. We know that nothing is permanent, but we
feel that the Lord has provided Scott Jones to fill our current need for a
Minister of Music, and to help grow our church by reaching young families.
Scott got off to a great start on both fronts, bringing a fresh new spirit to
the music and increasing the youth program with the addition of his own family
of seven children!—Praise the Lord!
Scott comes to us from a mixed background. Born
and raised in Houston, he accepted Jesus at age nine. He started in music
evangelism at 16, then joined the military, spending 3 years in Germany as a
military policeman. Returning to Houston, Scott worked as youth pastor and
music minister in several area churches and formed two non-profit
organizations working with children. Scott continued his law enforcement
career in the Harris County Constable’s office, and the Metro Police
Department.
Scott and Rhonda moved their family to
Fredericksburg in 2001, where he currently manages The Dairy Queen. He has
worked with Faith Baptist in Fredericksburg, as music minister, mentor,
teacher. He founded the Hill Country Children’s Theater in 2002, writing and
directing many of the plays himself.
Scott’s wife Rhonda, manages The Rathskeller in
Fredericksburg, as well as being a full time MOM. Keeping their faith as their
primary focus in raising their family and furthering their careers, both Scott
and Rhonda are committed to using their God-given gifts to further His
kingdom.
Scott and Rhonda’s eldest, Christina, is
following in her father’s footsteps. She has joined the army and is currently
in boot camp. We wish her all the best, and we pray for God’s protection in
her life, and that He will use her in His work
