Western Hills is happy to welcome Ron and Barbara Lowry home to Western Hills. Ron has again answered our call for a minister of music and worship. And yes, we know that Tennessee and his grandchildren will call him away in the spring, but we count our blessings for the time that he gives us
Ron loves to sing to the Lord, and his music style and choices reflect that love. He leans to traditional gospel, but is equally comfortable with more contemporary styles. His joy shines through in the enthusiasm and energy with which he directs.
While practicing music to be presented weekly, Ron is already looking ahead to Christmas. The choir has begun to work on the Christmas music, a cantata entitled The Love of God at Christmas. While this cantata was presented in 2007, the story and traditional hymns are timeless and always welcome. And there will be changes and additions to the original arrangement and presentation.
The choir is meeting for rehearsal on Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm, prior to the evening worship service. Everyone is welcomed to join them for both regular Sunday morning services as well as for the Christmas program. There are several empty chairs in the choir loft, and we will be thrilled to move in more if needed.
